East Memphis Roof Debris Removal & Gutter Cleaning
Client called the exterior cleaning pros at East Memphis Home Services needing debris removed from the valleys of the roof. East Memphis Home Services was able to knock out the work quickly and professionally.
Why is this seemingly small task so important to be done? By removing the organic debris from the roof, we can help extend the life of your home’s roofing system. Here’s how…
Debris in the roof valleys holds water against the top layer(s) of shingles. The water will seep under the layers of shingles instead of running innocently off the roof onto the ground. Once the water is under the shingles, it will absorb into the felt lining beneath the shingles. The wet felt lays on top of the roof’s wooden decking (the flat surface under the shingles), and there is no airflow directly below the shingles to dry the felt. If the felt is wet, then the wooden decking absorbs water causing it to rot. After the wooden decking becomes rotten and breaks down over time, leaks are very probable to appear in the affected areas. A leaking roof obviously requires very very expensive repairs when compared to the simple act of removing the debris from your roof.
